Mission Statement

Bet Midrash Torat Hayim is a Torah-learning center located in Los Angeles, neighboring right next to Beverly Hills. It was founded to be one the first Persian Bet Midrash & Bet Keneset by Harav David Zargari. This Holy Building is a fully active synagogue with daily services including Shabbat, and Yom Tov. The Bet Midrash offers a wide  range of programs for men and women including:

  • Daily Talmud classes
  • Weekly lectures regarding Jewish thought and belief
  • One-on-one private learning sessions
  • Teen and children’s learning programs
  • Marriage preparation for brides and grooms and Taharat HaMishpacha review courses
  • Guidance and counseling for men, women, and young adults

Classes cover the broad spectrum of Torah learning including Chumash, Mishna, Gemara, Halachot, Hashkafa and Mussar.

Our Open Bet Midrash

The Upper Bet Midrashis is occupied daily by Torah Scholars who toil in the wisdom of the Talmud and Halacha. 24 hours a day open with a fully stock library of Sefarim and an open coffee station. Every day, scholars come and enjoy learning and teaching to the people of the community making themselves available for individualized and group learning sessions.

Community

Bet Midrash Torat Hayim serves all members of the Los Angeles & Beverly Hills community. Affiliated and non-affiliated Jews alike find their home in the Bet Midrash, where they can learn Torah and grow spiritually. The Bet Midrash constituents share the common goal of aiming for spiritual heights and are united in the effort to do so. This creates an atmosphere of friendship and camaraderie. The Bet Midrash welcomes all who wish to participate in the various programs regardless of previous learning background.
